Non-toxic nail polish + top 4 picks for 2018/2019

Updated: Apr 15, 2019

Having a great nail style without controversial and harsh chemicals is not just a dream anymore. You can help the environment while making last touch-ups on your style with non-toxic nail polish formulas.

Non toxic options are often labelled as 10-free, or 12-free. It means there are non-toxic nail polishes formulated without dibutyl phthalate (DBP), toluene, xylene, ethyl tosylamide, camphor, formaldehyde, formaldehyde resin, parabens, tert-butyl hydroperoxide, sulfates, petrochemicals, GMOs, triclosan or triphenyl (TPHP).

They are usually also free of ingredients derived from animals. Great for vegans.

I found couple of options and tried them on.

Sundays, net wt. .47 fl oz | 14 ml

I love their pastel shades. This brand focuses on wellness, simplicity and individuality. My favorite nail polish for everyday wear.

Adesse, net wt. .37 fl oz | 11 ml

You can find organic infused nail lacquer, nail care and great choice of glitters, gel effect and liquid chrome nail polishes here. 12-free, not tested on animals and every batch has its own number for better quality control. High quality & still playful.

Pretty Woman, net wt. .3 fl oz | 10 ml

Made in the USA since 2000. I applaud to that. Great selection of chrome, ceramic, gels, glitters, neons, sands and shimmers. Nail medic anti aging nail care and designer nail kits also offered.

Zoya, net wt. .47 fl oz | 14 ml

Very playful, many shades, many textures & many choices. I did not count but it must be hundreds of them. Matt, shiny, glitter, cracking with no problem. Great nail polish brush, easy to work with.

Why not to choose toxic nail polish?

Because harmful chemicals can not only cause dryness and weakening of nails, but are linked to cancer, birth defects, impaired breathing and nausea. They can affect hormones, are harmful to the nervous system and have been linked to impaired human reproduction.

There are other many nice brands to try. ella + mila, 100% Pure, Pacifica, Karma Hues, Trust Fund Beauty and more.

Choose non toxic beauty.
