History of bath soaks and bath salts is dated almost the same as mankind. It was frequently used for its healing properties. It was and still is frequently used in beauty treatments. Epsom salt

Epsom salt is not exactly salt as the name suggests. It is a compound that contains magnesium, sulfur and oxygen in its structure. And its taste is actually not salty but bitter. Interesting, isn’t it?

It was named after a town in County Surrey in England, where it was first discovered.

Epsom salt has been used for hundreds of years providing positive impact to human health. The positive effects of Epsom salt are usually attributed to magnesium, of which most people have a complete deficiency.

In water, Epsom salt dissolves and decomposes into magnesium and sulphate ions. Since these substances are well absorbed through the skin, magnesium cations and sulphated anions get into the body where they perform important functions.
